Maybe It’s Cheesy…

You know that moment you see in the movies…the one where the girl goes out with girlfriends to blow off some steam. She’s dancing under the neon, flashing lights — the disco ball hanging overhead.

Some cute guy comes up to her and starts dancing with her. Maybe even a couple other ones throughout the night. She’s laughing, enjoying herself, and having a great time.

Then he, the “guy”, enters the crowded room. The busy dancing bodies sort of part like waves and they make eye contact. There’s a lot of weight in that one look. History. Understanding.

And then he walks right up to her on the dance floor, the music fades to the background, he pushes the other guys aside, he looks down into her eyes — deeply. Knowingly. They’re close, as the crowd swarms around them.

And he says something like, “I’m not sure why you’re dancing with all these other guys — when you know that you’ve always been mine.”

Or perhaps there’s no words at all. They don’t need any. All the words are unspoken — a  kiss ensues, full of sparks and magic, that goes on and on.

They walk off hand-in-hand.

Do you think this every happens in real life?

I wish that it did. I wish that’s the way the world works. Wouldn’t that be amazing? Wouldn’t it be lovely if someone could show you that that kind of love does exist?

And if it isn’t the way the world works…if those moments, the ones you desperately wish for, never happen…then maybe all that you can hope for is something even better, even more wonderful than a moment like that. Something that changes your entire life. A perfect love, a perfect fit, a perfect embrace.
